Fundación Baccigalupo Summary 2023 The tennis school during the week takes place on Mondays and Wednesdays During the classes, first a warm-up and stretching work is done by a volunteer, specialized in running. Then coordination, movement, balance and everything related to tennis techniques, strokes and methodologies are done. There are 3 levels of work: initial, intermediate and advanced. The type of approach depends on each level, but in all cases a high level of demand is sought, seeking that the student tries to give his or her best. In the last stage, matches are held and classes end with group games among all the students. We have 4 tennis courts that CeNARD gives us. Students with intellectual disabilities attend the classes, coordinated by two teachers with long experience in disabilities and accompanied by 5 volunteers. It should be noted that some of the Tennis School students took the Sports Assistant course offered by the Baccigalupo Foundation together with the Social Commitment Area of the UCA. They put into practice week after week the knowledge acquired to be a teacher's assistant and we see the excellent acceptance by students with intellectual disabilities that the person who is teaching them is a young person with disabilities as well. The interaction and arrival in the most initial cases is worth observing. Within the framework of the 20th Anniversary, the sports cycle concluded with a Tennis Tournament and the delivery of reports to families, detailing the student's evolutionary process. The school for the little ones takes place on Saturdays The classes for the little ones (6 to 13 years old) take place in a playful environment, providing the first concepts in relation to tennis technique addressed through games. Psychomotor skills are worked a lot with materials appropriate to ages. For the group of 10 to 13, work is done on mini-pitches with greater and more detailed demands according to the level of each student. The final class in December concluded with a didactic challenge game, where families participated with their children.
