Sanele Saul Joins Coaching Team At Vosloorus Michael Lelosa has been the main coach at Vosloorus since the inception of the programme, but due to financial reasons, he has taken on additional coaching at a school. This has meant that we had to employ a new coach to bridge the gap. Sanele Saul has been appointed the new coach for the programme. He went to a local high school in the township and in his final year, passed his matric examinations. He is 22 and is a product of the programme itself. Sanele started playing tennis at Vosloorus when he was 11 and immediately showed promise. This promise was nurtured to the extent that he played in and won tournaments especially those wonderful one day events at Benoni organised by Gauteng East Tennis Association. He played in trials for the provincial team and represented his province for three years running at SA High schools and other inter provincial fixtures where he acquitted himself with distinction. “I have always loved tennis especially in the township which has led to better competition for me” he said. “I hope that by now coaching the next generation of young players I can add to the success of the club.” It is pleasing to see his rapport with the young players and how they have responded to the new measures and training that he has brought to the programme. Sanele has taken to coaching like a duck to water and has taken his Play and Stay course. He also plays cricket, but tennis remains his main focus especially Vosloorus tennis. We wish him every success over the years to come and expect him to be able to take his Level 1 course next year.
